Just tuned the fourth peice of our cage into a play area for the ferret including tubes and a dig box

 

#3. 2 Ferret Nations cages put together to make the Ferret Condo Complex

Below: This is our Ferret Cage to Date the two top levels are what i like to call the Ferret Condo and the bottom right side of the cage is there potty area. the fourth cage we have set up for our naughty cat who doesn't like using the liter box and can be used for a sick ferret if we need to separate them for some reason. We didn't use it for the ferret's cage because I know my Ferret's Way to well and know that it will only turn into another potty area if we let them use it. You will notice all of the shelves are covered in blankets this works for 2 reasons 1. gives them soft place to sleep and cuddle in 2. Because one of them likes to poop on any hard surface available and the blankets they won't.

Below: Ok if you get a ferret nation Cage think about removing the bottom shelf they are impossible to clean under with that shelf on the bottom and anyone who has ferret's knows they can make the biggest of messes anywhere.

Below: In this photo you will see that we put a tunnel in the top,We zip tied it to the top and they love using it we made it so its the only way they can get to that peticular level and they use it all the time. Note i was watching ferret video's and got idea from one of them they guy used duct tape in his cage for everything even putting a tube in the top of his cage. Please don't use duct tape in the cage heaven knows some ferret's like to chew and thats not something they should be chewing on.

 The New Ferret Cage Its 2 Cages with the center of the top sections removed so the ferrets have a big open space to play when they are not out plus plenty of room to hang hammocks.

#2. Free Roam Style Cage with old pet habitat 5 inside 

Its a partial Free Roam area they have their cage to sleep and a large 4 foot x 8 foot play area with them being able to go in and sleep whenever they wanted. I Still like the concept of this cage it gave the ferret's more freedom but became more difficult than we could handle because they just would not always use the litter box and the cleaning alone took 45 min a day and on your knee's the entire time. With 2 ferrets it wasn't so bad but 4 really makes a difference so we moved to the Ferret nation cages detailed Above.

I made the sides out of 3/4 plywood and painted it to match the room.

This was our first Ferret Cage We got it when we got Wylie at Petco in Jefferson City,Mo

    It Overall was a good cage for one ferret but when we got 2 they needed more room if you look 

at the levels they are really small and can barely hold 1 ferret let alone 2. We still have this cage, it is now at my parents house for when we come to visit being as how it is hard to get a babysitter for them we now take them with us when we go away for a few days.
